Kenya has many internet brands, but most don't reach Malindi. Zuku's network covers Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Nakuru — not Malindi. Faiba's home fiber is concentrated in Nairobi, and their 4G routers only work where JTL's network reaches. That leaves four realistic choices for a Malindi home or business:

The bottom line
Choose Starlink if you are outside everyone's coverage — a farm, a boat, deep off-grid. It works anywhere with open sky. You pay for that freedom in hardware: KES 27,000+ upfront (instalment and rental options can spread it), and there is no technician to call when something breaks.
Choose Safaricom if their fibre is already on your street and you want the country's biggest brand — or if a budget tier like the KES 800 Wi-Fi Bamba plan (10 Mbps, select estates) matters more than anything else. Be aware of the published 1:4 shared-capacity ratio and the fair-usage caps: evening speeds can be a quarter of what the plan says.
Choose Mawingu if fiber has not reached your area and the lowest upfront cost matters most — installation is free with a refundable deposit, and KES 2,500 buys up to 20 Mbps on their wireless network. The trade-off is the wireless part: speeds are "up to" figures shared over the air, so what you actually get depends on signal, weather and how busy the mast is.

Which internet provider is cheapest in Malindi?
For a full home fiber connection, iNet's Basic Browse at KES 2,500 a month (20 Mbps, unlimited) is the lowest-priced unlimited fiber plan available across Malindi. Mawingu matches that KES 2,500 entry price for up to 20 Mbps, but on wireless rather than a wired fiber line. Safaricom's budget tiers start lower — KES 800 buys the 10 Mbps Wi-Fi Bamba plan in select estates, and Fibre Lite offers 15 Mbps at KES 1,500 — but they run on shared capacity with fair-usage caps. Does Mawingu work in Malindi?
Yes — Mawingu lists Malindi, Kilifi, Mtwapa and Ukunda among its service areas. It is a fixed-wireless service: plans run from KES 2,500 for up to 20 Mbps to KES 4,500 for up to 40 Mbps, with free installation and a refundable deposit. Is there fiber internet in Malindi?
